| mr-strauss | Jan 2, 2005 11:09pm | the thing that is interesting is that I've yet to hear a single convincing rebuttal of the 9/11 "conspiracy" thing. The only real rebuttal I ever come across is "yeah, sure and elvis is still alive!" Which of course is just a broad and brainless attempt to associate the reasonable and justified suspicions of intelligent people with the paranoid delusions of the tin foil hat crowd.
Occams razor says there was complicity, it says there was cover up; it says there was conspiracy. |

| mr-strauss | Jan 3, 2005 3:30pm | the thing is this. There is a lot of disinformation out there. I obviously think that planes hit the WTC. I'm unsure about the pentagon. It's really hard to say what exactly happened.
But I am convinced of a couple of things.
1. Norad could not possibly have been that ineffective at their job without complicity at some level.
2. The WTC did not collapse because of jet fuel melting steel. WTC building 7 fell without any discernable cause whatsoever. It wasn't hit by anything and it had nothing more than a couple of small fires inside of it. very localized little fires. The kind of fire that does not cause skyscrapers to collapse. ever. no matter what.
I am not a conspiracy theory guy at all. I am a rationalist. And what I see are a couple of things that just don't get addressed at all. the two points that I listed above.
Are there rebuttals? Not that I have seen. Not that address those two points in any even remotely satisfactory way.
Please find me one, I'd prefer to be proven wrong believe me.
Who gains? Complacency. Comfort. Not having to think about these unpleasant things. That's the urge served by positioning oneself as anti-conspiracy. I mean I'm sold on nothing much here. I have not seen adequate proof to say what happened. But I have seen adequate proof to say what didn't happen. The official story didn't happen. |

Sponsor | SpitOutTheSuffer | Jan 3, 2005 3:36pm | | 77) I agree. I remember watching on tv some guy (J. Edgar Hoover?) wouldnt allow bad guys to get away in the movies back in the day. (Its a miracle anyone could conspire to do anything at all..) let alone bad. Atleast thats what the conditioned bashers that write everyone off.. anyone who believes in any amount of any conspiracy theory "think". |
