I've seen a lot of people leave this life. Friends, family, aquaintances. Old, young, middle aged. Predictable and completely unexpected.
I'm not saying anyone is wrong for fearing death, it's probably one of the most ubiquitous human fears. |

In fact those are sometimes the scariest because they symbolise a lack of control. There's nothing you can do about it except change your thinking processes about the whole concept of what it is you're scared about and why you're scared. |

| Goatboy77 | May 7, 10:31am | For me, it's not so much faith as logic.
I see no reason why death should be viewed as a bad thing or a good thing.
It's just a natural thing. Sure, there are ways I'd rather not die, like being tortured to death or burning alive, but the end itself is something we'll all experience. |

| npftm | May 7, 11:21am | | Certainly not death. Seen it, touched it, smelled it and even tried it. Not violence for the very same reason. Not prison or punishment as spent most of my formative years inside. Love doesn't scare me - although breakups can be painful - and neither does rejection. Essentially, if I say heights I mean heights. That's what "really" scares me. All this other stuff is everyday, banal human neurosis. |

| Jeffmcgo | May 7, 11:37pm | | Getting Out of bed: Considering that matter is 99.99999..% NOTHING, (if the proton in an atom were approximately 12" across, and the nearest electron is (as with hydrogen) a barely visible speck, about 10 miles away) I see no reason to be logical. Logically, when I step out of bed it should just result in a neverending trip through the universe... |
